چکیده

detail exactly how sparse medical care was in Scotland. Even if it were available, the authors show that the stringency of the Scottish Poor Law may have denied access to it. One of their tables (9.B) "shows how much was actually spent on doctors per head of the population on the poor roll. The Scottish average was £0.0 154, or no more than 3.d per pauper per year in the old money" (p. 217). The comprehensiveness and range of figures the authors have been able to produce will be the envy of English historians. The homeland of conjectural history after all is also the repository of the Statistical Account. Christopher Lawrence Wellcome Museum at the Science Museum

نقشه راه مطالعات معدنکاری و فلزکاری کهن در ایران

Iran is rich in ancient mining and metallurgical relics. Nevertheless, the studies on these relics have so far been mostly unsystematic. The road map for the ancient mining and metallurgical studies in Iran, that has been ordered by the Research Centre for Conservation of Cultural Relics of Iran (RCCCR), proposes a systematic multidisciplinary plan for the ancient mining and archaeometallurgica...

Ancient Gold Mining Activities in India - An Overview

Gold was obtained through washing or panning of the river sands during initial periods of civilisation. With the advent of knowledge of metallurgical processing of ores it was recovered through mining of in-situ quartz reefs, and then from auriferous sulphide ores. The metal mining activities are evidenced in the form of large number of ‘ancient metal mines’ or ‘old workings’ and ‘placer mining...

Application of cut set method to reliability evaluation of mine ventilation networks

Providing a fresh and cool airflow in underground mines is one of the main concerns during mining. Destruction of support systems, the presence of undesirable objects in the airway and distortion of airflow are the parameters involved that would result in pressure loss, which would affect the ventilation network. There are a lot of research works about the ventilation network planning that cons...

Geostatistical estimation to delineate oxide and sulfide zones using geophysical data; a case study of Chahar Bakhshi vein-type gold deposit, NE Iran

Delineation of oxide and sulfide zones in mineral deposits, especially in gold deposits, is one of the most essential steps in an exploration project that has been traditionally carried out using the drilling results. Since in most mineral exploration projects there is a limited drilling dataset, application of geophysical data can reduce the error in delineation of the sulfide and oxide zones....

COMPARISON OF MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL PROPERTIES OF PIEZOELECTRIC COMPOSITES PZT/ZnO AND PZT/Al FABRICATED BY POWDER METALLURGY

Lead zirconate titanate (PZT) as a piezoelectric ceramic has been used widely in the fields of electronics, biomedical engineering, mechatronics and thermoelectric. Although, the electrical properties of PZT ceramics is a major considerable, but the mechanical properties such as fracture strength and toughness should be improved for many applications. In this study, lead monoxide, zirconium ...
